It is with great excitement that we are planning our fourth annual golf tournament.

It seems like only a few days ago, I was on the phone with friends asking them to come aboard and help me get this charity and project off the ground. I am humbled by their support, and by the support and generosity of our sponsors, golfers, volunteers and friends.

Our motto “Make Life Sweet!” is one that is very close and personal to me. Almost five years ago I myself was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. Admittedly I had a hard time digesting the news and diagnosis, but I have managed to get my condition under control and have a better understanding of the disease.

Now imagine being two years old, or four, or even twelve and hearing that news. Imagine at that young age, you discover that for the rest of your life you need to inject yourself with insulin. Imagine the constant worry of the parents of that child, wondering while they are at school, at a birthday party or at the movies – did they remember to take their needle, did they measure correctly.

That is why our mission is not over, and it won’t be until a cure for Diabetes is found.

Again I invite you all to join in with us as we get closer to our goal, but until that day please help us make the lives of children with Diabetes and their families a little easier.
